How To Find The Right Wedding Photographer For You

Every couple is different, and every wedding is different, which is why it’s important to take the time to find a photographer who can capture your special day in the right way.

With so much to do when you’re planning a wedding, it can be easy to see finding a photographer as another thing on your to-do list, but it’s important to spend a little bit more time on this task to ensure the pictures of your day are exactly as you want.

The Nanaimo News Bulletin recently offered some advice on how to choose a wedding photographer in Sussex, or wherever you live.

Before you even start looking for a photographer, find some photography styles that you like so that you know what you’re looking for on your wedding day. When you find photographers online, look at their portfolios, as well as social media accounts, particularly Instagram.

If any of the photos you see on their website or social pages elicit an emotional response, that’s a good sign.

This is when you should reach out to the photographer whose work you like to discuss your wedding plans in more detail and, crucially, to make sure they’re available for your big day. Meet with them and be clear about what you’re looking for in your wedding photos.

In December, Harper’s Bazaar highlighted some of the top wedding trends for 2020, noting that video is becoming just as important as photography at weddings.

The key to getting this right, however, is having a videography team that “collaborates seamlessly with your photographer”, so make sure you also talk about this when you’re choosing a photographer if you’ve got your heart set on hiring a videographer too.
